Clay: Defying Convention on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy
Today I focused on clay as medium, and unearthed these beautiful examples of unconventional works by Etsy artists that charm and captivate the senses. These artists explore various finishes, textures and functionality to create these small objects with sizeable impact on the eye, and invite a closer look. Several of these artists are undiscovered on Etsy, despite their astonishing skill and creativity. Please click on pictures that appeal to you and convo these artists with your words of encouragement. Prices range from $20.00 to $225.00.
From top left to bottom right, today's artisits include: earthenwood, luckalilly, elementclaystudion, charlesandsusie, FinnCreations, stepanka, juliefawnbioisseau, dbacock, juditavill, muddyfingers, newgeorgiaclayworks, alyssaettinger

All of these artists use the medium so well; the textures are particularly pleasing as that allows the works to take on new nuances as the light changes.

Great selection and presentation. I visited some of the shops to see the other works by these artists and found more quality works.

The pillow form really intrigues me!

I too am honored and pleased to be included in such a great company. I love the blog and it has opened up more great artist for me to see and be inspired by..

Perhaps it is because there seem to be so many crafters doing ceramics that it is underrated -- sort of like jewelry, in which the truly artistic creations get lost in the shuffle. To me, these lovely pieces certainly stand out for their originality and strong aesthetic appeal.
