Dreaming of Summer on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy by Artkitech
This morning I awoke to pleasant news from Artkitech saying I was included in her treasury. Flattered and very taken with her color palette, I decided to post her picks in this showcase of warm, sun-kissed creations that most definitely evoke the summer feeling of Artkitech's theme. She wrote this: "Al fresco dining, a glass of chilled prosecco, summer breezes drifting through wheat fields, refreshing scents of herbs and blossoms -- fleeting dreamy images in eager anticipation of summertime for those of us who dwell in the northerly hemisphere." 'Nuff said - she tells the story with this beautifully curated showcase of unique Etsy creations. Click on the pictures to go directly to these listing. Prices range from $4.50 to $495.00.

Resolutions: Yoga on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy
Namaste! Resolutions at this time of year often include getting into better physical shape. For me, that means yoga, which addresses body, mind and spirit. Today's selections of unique creations found on Etsy reflect all three of these elements. The wearables that caught my eye can go beyond the studio and out in public, which is essential to me since I sometimes run errands after doing yoga. Sea Legs: Octopus' Garden on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy
Felted critters from the sea with "leg issues" caught my eye this morning and brought to mind the sweet, happy Beatle's song, Octopus' Garden. Like Ringo's lyrical octopus that travels along the seabed collecting pretty things for its garden, I trolled along Etsy's search pages and gathered in my proverbial shopping basket these whimsical creations born of imagination and skill. There is no end to what you may find on Etsy, and browsing without anything in mind is fun and addicting! Please feel free to share your own whimsical creation or favorite find in a comment, and remember to include your link! Click on the pictures to go directly to these listings. Prices Range from $12.00 to $125.00

Puce: Color Scheming on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy
Puce is a shade of red, denoting reddish-brown and purplish-brown, named after the French word for 'flea.' The earthy colors of iron-ore and rusted metal come to mind when I think of puce. It is a color that seems to go with nearly everything as a wearable accessory or within any decor, and is often associated with the fall season. Today I decided to seek out beautiful creations by talented Etsy artists in color palettes that incorporate rich shades of earthy reds. Click on the pictures to go directly to these listings. Prices range from $7.00 to $350.00.

Chartreuse: Color Scheming on Etsy

Handpicked on Etsy
Chartreuse has come to mean a color about halfway between yellow and green, while traditionally it meant 'yellow with a green cast' after the French liquer of the same name. As a fashion color, designers bestow it with trendy color names including pear, pistacio, apple, and camouflage. In my design career, I've found chartreuse can offend the eye of some people, while others appreciate as I do how a touch of chartreuse can enliven a color scheme. How does chartreuse affect you? It typically makes me smile, and I hope that is your reaction to this showcase of handmade and vintage creations found on Etsy. Click on the pictures to go directly to these listings. Prices range from $5.00 to $110.00.
