Pebbles: Minimally Altered States on Etsy
Today's theme is pebbles and stones used in their natural, minimally altered state to create a well designed, sophisticated finished piece. My own recent pieces triggered my curiosity about what others are doing with found stones. I will save altered stone creations and stone-inspirations for another day, and limit this showcase to these truly extraordinary pieces found on Etsy. My attention was drawn to the skill and artistry applied in creating these elegant, organic pieces. I was intrigued by qualities of simplicity, sensitive use of materials, and unique ways of presentating the subject. These designers have clearly defined viewpoints that are worth reading, so please click on the pictures to visit these Etsy listings. Prices range from $22.50 to $800.00.

Tip to Artists Featured Here: Promote Yourself!
When you post a comment on this or any other blog, did you know that you should always include your URL to your site or store? When others link to you, you score points with the search engines and that is how your page rank is boosted. Anonymous comments accomplish nothing for you at all, and signing off with your store name will help a little, but nothing works as well for you as posting a link.
I want EtsyLounge to work for you, so please take advantage and freely use this site to promote yourself and fellow artisans by creating those links! The more you participate, the more you will be rewarded by drawing attention to yourself.

Seedpod: Botanical Inspiration on Etsy
Handpicked on Etsy
Our natural world is an unending source of inspiration for artists. Today's focus is the fascinating seedpod that carries and disperses life around our planet, in lovely little parcels encasing the seeds of future flora, fruits and legumes. In my own studio I've been creating bead-woven fantasy seedpod pendants, and wanted to see what other Etsy artists do with this botanical subject. We often overlook the seedpod's significance and aesthetic qualities as we munch our peas. Today's featured artists remind us of their visual and metaphorical beauty, using their chosen medium to create objects that delight the eye and adorn the body. Click on the pictures to go directly to these Etsy listings. Prices range from $13.00 to $115.00.

Milky White: Ethereal Travels on Etsy
My theme today is the color "white", and the first Etsy listing that caught my eye was a piece of vintage milkglass. I'm saving "vintage" for another day's topic, and focus for now simply on the loveliness of ethereal, creamy white in various manifestations of new and old creations. I found myself going back and forth in time as I ran across milkglass and broken china repurposed as jewelry, then some modern-day handcrafted porcelain pieces that reminded me of the classic hobnail motif of milkglassware. Creamy white goes organic with handcrafted creations in felted and repurposed fiber, modern stoneware and an ethereal natural orb of lava. If you see tempations here that please your eye, please click on the pictures to go directly to these Etsy listings. Prices range from $14.50 to $85.00.

Critters in Motion: Art from Etsy
Handpicked on Etsy
Animated animals are my theme today, and these are among the few that charmed my eye from the search pages of Etsy. It took a bit of digging to find these standouts which appeal to me for artistic technique, and for the fondly humorous depiction of animal subjects performing playful human activities -- dancing, leaping ebulliently, riding. Most of these artists are new to me, and several have not yet achieved the recognition they deserve on Etsy. Click on the pictures to go directly to these Etsy listings. Prices range from $18.00 to $110.00
From top left to bottom right, today's artists include: kinellaart, bluedogrose, retrowhale, blackoutwell, SisterWilde, greyhounddawgs, Tosya, IngridGlaw, bluedogrose, bluedogrose

Catch 'o the Day: Gone Fishin' on Etsy
Handpicked on Etsy
I cast my net in the waters of Etsy this morning and hauled in a mixed catch of creations by Etsy painters, jewelry designers, a fly-tieing fisher and a ceramic tile maker. Painterly styles of impressionism and surrealism, and a variety of media and materials comprise this array of functional and decorative pieces. Included today are some brand new artists to Etsy who only have a few tantalizing listings in their shops right now, but their work is so impressive that I couldn't resist featuring them. I hope you'll click on these pictures to take a closer look at these intriguing creations! Prices range from $2.50 to $275.00. From top left to bottom right, today's artists include: safletcherart, fishfanatic, fishfanatic, SilverMoonGallery, lesperancetile, lennyh1, FireSpirit, doghoundblues, mountainriverflies, jennicalou
